Family Houston provides a variety of assistance and referrals for low-income individuals or families in need of help with accessing community resources.

Through solution-oriented counseling services, and family and senior support services, Family Houston teaches the life skills necessary to face financial, health, relationship and other critical challenges. In this way, Family Houston helps to strengthen families and build a healthier community.

Family Houston, a United Way Agency, is one of the oldest 501 (c)(3) nonprofit social service organizations in the area. Originally founded in 1904, the organization was conceived to be a flexible social service agency, ready to quickly offer help to those in need. In 1999, Family Services of Greater Houston received the 1999 Award of Excellence for Best Practices from Mental Health Corporations of America.

Family Houston is able to reach more clients throughout the Spring Branch area by having a Case Management staff on-site at the Spring Branch Family Development Center two-to-three days a week. They are pleased to offer help resolving crises, locate utility and/or rental assistance and complete benefit application forms at SBFDC since 2000.
